Neuromorphic acoustic sensing using an adaptive microelectromechanical cochlea with integrated feedback

چکیده

Abstract Many speech processing systems struggle in conditions with low signal-to-noise ratios and changing acoustic environments. Adaptation at the transduction level integrated signal could help to address this; human hearing, are can be adaptively tuned for noisy conditions. Here we report a microelectromechanical cochlea as bio-inspired sensor functionality. Real-time feedback is used tune sensing properties, dynamic switching between linear nonlinear characteristics improves detection of signals conditions, increases range enables adaptation The transition behaviour attributed Hopf bifurcation experimentally validate its dependence on parameters. We also show that output-signal coupling two coupled sensors increase frequency coverage.

Adaptive Neuromorphic Analogue VLSI Chips for Integrated Odour Sensing

This proposal is the resubmission of an earlier proposal of the same title to EPSRC (Leicester GR/R21424/01, Edinburgh GR/R21448/01, and Warwick GR/R21431/01). In this resubmission we have addressed the points raised by the review panel in terms of the commercial aspects of the project. In particular, we have removed the involvement of all non-UK companies from the project and strengthened the ...

GOATS 2005 Integrated, Adaptive Autonomous Acoustic Sensing Systems

A rellated objective is the development of a nested, distributed command and control architecture that enables individual network nodes of clusters of nodes to complete the mission objectives, including target detection, classification, localization and tracking (DCLT), fully autonomously with no or limited communication with the network operators. The need for such a nested, autonomous communi...
